Environmental Engineer

Environmental EngineerAs an Environmental Engineer, you would manage a comprehensive environmental program for PPG's Mojave, California Aerospace facility. You would provide leadership and training to ensure a safe and healthful workplace for our team while ensuring compliance with applicable environmental regulations to minimize all liabilities. You will report to the Regional EHS Director and close interaction with all levels of the organization is required to promote a consistent and unified EHS message.Key Responsibilities:Lead all aspects of Title V permits, water permits, Waste Management Program (Hazardous, Non-Hazardous, Universal).Develop and maintain emergency response and contingency plans.Maintaining compliance with ISO14001 requirements.Manage the SPCC and spill incident reporting program.Develop leading indicators that improve sustainability metrics (energy, water, waste) and spill prevention.Collaborate with the site's EHS Manager, along with PPG's Regional Environmental Center of Excellence (CoE) to manage environmental strategies for the site.Provide technical advice on EHS regulations, ensure compliance with state, local and federal regulationsPrepare regulatory reports and develop solutions to a variety of safety, industrial hygiene and environmental issues.Conduct critical industrial hygiene and occupational health tasks such as air monitoring, noise monitoring, ventilation assessments, and personal protective equipment (PPE) programs.Qualifications:B.S. in a related discipline. 7+ years of proven experience in a manufacturing environment or chemical facility preferred. A technical background in Environmental, Health, and Safety with knowledge of Environmental Regulations. Prior experience motivating change and working in a cross-functional work environment.
