Our vision is to manage all back office functions of a restaurant. We started with CAS and now we're expanding with tax. We're looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit to head up this new service line, a blank slate for you to design the tax practice of your dreams. A tax practice that is state of the art, client focused, and seamless. A tax practice where you can focus on preparing taxes and saving clients money, not cleaning up books and sorting through receipts and invoices like it's 1998. This role focuses on leading the tax function for Prix Fixe Accounting and expanding tax services for clients in hospitality-related industries.ResponsibilitiesArchitect the tax software and implement the tax workflowFacilitate, prepare and review client state and federal tax returnsEnsure accurate, timely filing of federal, state and local income tax returns and other business related filingsReview client tax liability and prepare quarterly tax estimatesImplement opportunities for process improvement with tax and accounting proceduresDevelop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxesPlan for and develop the overall return calendar and coordinate timing and inputs with the accounting teamManage and facilitate IRS income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to the firm and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislationProvide support with various internal audits and special tax related projectsMeet with clients on a quarterly basis, reviewing financials and providing strategies to reduce their tax liabilityCreation and management of depreciation and amortization schedulesCoordinate with the Director of Accounting on workpaper templates for the Accounting team to streamline the tax preparation processAssist the onboarding team with setting up new clientsPeriodically assist the onboarding team with historical bookkeeping of new clientsManagement of 1-2 staff accountants, managing a small book of bookkeeping businessRequirementsBachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Tax and at least 5 years' experience in tax accountingCurrent CPA licenseA strong work ethic, including self motivation, attention to detail, follow through and analytical abilityA high degree of professionalism and the ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and integrityThe ability to manage multiple tasks with a high level of detail and accuracyStrong knowledge of tax code, compliance and proceduresFamiliarity with U.S. federal and state reporting requirementsExperience with Restaurant, Hotel and Real Estate Accounting and TaxExperience with New York and Massachusetts reporting preferredStrong experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvementsStrong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasksThe ability to work well in a remote environmentThe ability to work well as a team member and be an engaged mentor to staffMust possess excellent verbal and written communication skillsQuickBooks Online proficiency requiredMaintain highest levels of certifications achieved in all apps in the app stackMust be comfortable with cloud-based software and have proficiency with G-Suite applicationsAt least 1 year of experience working in the hospitality industry is required, preferably with an upscale, service-oriented restaurant or hotelBackground checkSense of humorJ-18808-Ljbffr
