Cashier/Customer Service

Hello, we are Pineapple Lagoon! We are a tiki inspired soft serve shop and family owned in OC. We are seeking Cashiers/ Soft Serve swirlers ( experience is preferred) Essential Duties and Responsibilities: -Customer service : Greet customers warmly, provide samples, answer any questions, and resolve complaints. -Cash Handling: Accurately process transactions ( cash/card) using Point of Sale (POS) system. -Basic math skills -Problem Solving and finding ways to fix issues without managment -Willing to work weekends if needed -Team Player- Strong communication and interpersonal skills - POS system knowledge - Updating menu boards - Ability to stand long periods and work in a fast-paced environment -Cleanliness: Wipe down counters, sanitize equipment, restock, sweep/mop floors and keep the shop tidy -Food Safety: Following proper food handling and safety standards, handwashing, glove use, temperatures, sanitizing and rotation. - able to address customers questions and concerns - Can work well under pressure and have a sense of urgency -Self-starter and always keeping busy during downtime -Maintaining a friendly positive attitude, helpful attitude working with speed and efficiency - comfortable on step stool to mix the product in the soft serve machine hopper -mixing products when needed/ refilling hoppers if product is low. -labeling containers for food items - Preparing toppings, washing, peeling, and cutting fruits - experience with soft serve machines/ cleaning is a plus - washing, sanitizing dishes and organizing the supply racks Minimum Qualifications: Basic Math Weekend availability Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule according to business needs- including evening, weekends, and holidays Detail oriented Soft serve swirling and machine knowledge is a plus Cashier/POS system experience Food experience Reliable transportation Must be legally authorized to work in the US Physical Demands and Work Environment: Ability to stand for lengthy periods of time Climbing up and down a ladder/step stool from time to time Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Work schedule: Must be able to work this schedule no exceptions ( Part Time ) Wednesday: 12:00 pm to 5:00pm Thursday: 12:00 pm to 5:00pm Friday : 12:00 pm to 5:00pm Saturday: 4:00 pm to 8pm ( occasionally) Pay: $16.90 per hr Job Overview We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier/Customer Service representative to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring customer satisfaction, promoting sales, and supporting daily store operations. Bilingual abilities are a plus to assist a diverse customer base. Previous Icecream/softserve store experience is preferred but not required. The position offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills in sales, and customer engagement. Duties Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions with accuracy and speed Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service through clear communication and professional phone etiquette Assist customers with product inquiries, product sampling, and upselling opportunities to enhance sales Manage cash handling responsibilities, including balancing registers and ensuring cash accuracy Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and assist with merchandising displays to maintain an attractive shopping environment Conduct product demos when applicable to promote featured items and increase sales Support inventory management by stocking items and assisting with inventory counts Provide support for store operations such as cleaning work areas and maintaining safety standards. Requirements Previous experience with POS systems, cashiering, or Icecream shop machines preferred Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and retail math calculations Ability to perform upselling and suggestive selling techniques to boost sales Experience with merchandising, stocking, or product demos is a plus Bilingual proficiency is advantageous for serving a diverse clientele Demonstrated phone etiquette and customer service skills Knowledge of Icecream store operations is beneficial Ability to work in a fast-paced retail setting with attention to detail and professionalism Pay: Up to $16.90 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 – 25.0 per week Work Location: In person
