Work Control Project Specialist (Maximo)- Naval Air Station Patuxent RiverCompetitive Wages and an Allowance for Insurance and 401k!The Work Control Project Specialist (Maximo) supports facility maintenance operations by managing work control processes, coordinating preventive maintenance schedules, and administering the IBM Maximo Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). This role is responsible for ensuring accurate work order creation, scheduling, tracking, and completion while supporting system implementation, configuration, and continuous improvement of maintenance workflows.This is a highly responsible and detail-oriented position essential to the successful execution of maintenance operations. The Work Control Project Specialist works closely with maintenance crews, project managers, and leadership to ensure accurate reporting, efficient scheduling, and proper documentation of maintenance activities.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister and maintain IBM Maximo CMMS to support maintenance operations, including work order creation, tracking, scheduling, and completionSupport Maximo implementation activities, including system configuration, data migration, preventive maintenance setup, and user trainingReceive, review, and process maintenance service requests and generate Maximo work orders for corrective and preventive maintenanceSchedule and dispatch technicians for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks using Maximo scheduling toolsMaintain Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules and ensure work orders are generated and completed according to established maintenance cyclesMonitor work order status in Maximo and coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure timely completion and accurate documentationRecord and update asset information, labor hours, materials, and maintenance history within MaximoDistinguish service tickets in the system and assign them to the appropriate maintenance department or technicianPrepare and distribute work orders to service crews and coordinate service calls as neededRelay messages and special instructions to mobile crews and other departments using email, telephone, or system notificationsInput technician time, completion notes, and maintenance documentation into the work management systemClose out work orders in Maximo with detailed completion notes and documentation for asset history and reporting purposesTroubleshoot discrepancies within work orders, asset records, or maintenance documentation when necessaryMaintain records of service calls and work orders through proper electronic documentation and filing proceduresSupport reporting and data analysis related to maintenance performance metrics, work order backlog, and asset reliabilityAssist with Maximo user support and training for maintenance personnelEssential SkillsAbility to work efficiently under pressure in a high-energy maintenance operations environmentAbility to succeed in a high-demand work control environment supporting multiple maintenance crewsStrong knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferably IBM MaximoUnderstanding of maintenance work order lifecycle and preventive maintenance programsKnowledge of dispatching methods, maintenance coordination, and work control processesFamiliarity with building maintenance operations and service requirementsAbility to operate a personal computer with strong attention to accuracy and detailAbility to establish priorities to ensure completion of tasks in a timely mannerRequirementsAssociate's degree in a related field2+ years of experience in Project Administration, (DOD BOSS contract experience preferred) Experience using IBM Maximo or similar CMMS platformsExperience supporting Maximo implementation, configuration, or system rollout activities preferredKnowledge of preventive maintenance scheduling, work order tracking, and asset management systemsExperience coordinating maintenance tasks in facilities, base operations, or industrial environments preferredMust be computer literate with knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office programsRegular, dependable attendanceValid driver's license compliant with the REAL ID Act or ability to obtain oneAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background checkU.S. citizenship required to obtain and maintain access to military installationsPhysical RequirementsCarrying objects/boxes/print-outs short distancesExtensive work with a personal computerMay require lifting and moving as much as 25 pounds with assistanceUse of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walkingProlonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stoopingThis is an indoor clerical position Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
