CLAY COUNTY YMCA Job Title: School Aged Child Care Staff Location: Rockville and/or Turkey Run Elementary School FLSA Status: Non-exempt Status: P/T Department: Childcare Reports to: Youth Director Revision Date: 11/2025 POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under the general direction of the Youth Director, the SACC Site Staff is responsible for managing, and supervising the daily operations of the SACC program, and providing a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for children in an after-school setting. Including planning and implementing a daily schedule of appropriate activities such as homework time, snack, games, and crafts. Supervises the activities of children to ensure their safety, and to provide a positive experience for each child. Ensures that site supplies are maintained and requests purchases as necessary. Maintains equipment in sound and safe order. Communicates with the Youth Director on issues of the site to ensure the program is one of the highest quality. Maintains and updates records. Includes weekly/monthly attendance, scholarship, balance sheets, outstanding balance letters, incident report, discipline forms, and time sheets turned in on time. Maintain a professional relationship and clear communication with parents, staff, volunteers, school personnel and Y personnel. Communicate effectively with families concerning programs/activities, schedule changes, and upcoming events. Respond to concerns and complaints in a positive manner. Organizes and participates in group games, activities, and interacts with children including homework help and snack time. Oversee that staff is actively engaging with the children. Must work one Youth Activity Night per year & one Youth event such as Breakfast with Santa, Noon Years Eve, or Healthy Kids Day. Required to work shifts during Spring & Fall Break Camp. Position requires current certifications in CPR, AED, First Aid, Preasidium, Safety & Risk Management, New Employee Orientation, Child Abuse Prevention, Cause Driven Tours, and New Employee Onboarding courses. Must have knowledge and ability to manage the childcare programs and supervise staff. Must have experience working with infants, children, and families. Must be able to make quick decisions and be assertive in enforcing rules and regulations. Demonstrate positive attitude and appreciates the needs of children. Have patience and enthusiasm. Display the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, staff, school personnel, members, donors, and volunteers. Ability to work as a team member. Must pass a background check. Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week; including 2 hours per pay period to prep and plan.
