Senior Accountant

SHOE SHOW, INC., the country’s largest privately held footwear retailer, operating for over 65 years with nearly 1,000 stores in 47 states, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This position is available in the corporate headquarters located in Concord, NC. Local candidates are encouraged to apply!What you should know:We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Accountant with a proven track record of managing daily, weekly, and monthly accounting activities. This role reports to the Accounting Manager and works closely with staff accountants, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship.The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of monthly close and financial reporting processes, along with a demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy. What you will do:Prepare and support the monthly close process, including assisting in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.Prepare, post, and review journal entries to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards.Perform and review account reconciliations and supporting schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.Collaborate with external auditors and support interim and year-end audit requests.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency within accounting operations.Support special projects and strategic initiatives in a high-growth environment.Review lease agreements and account for leases under ASC 842.
