This position will work closely with other trade leads and among the public to provide regular facility maintenance as well as production support of events.The work requires a journey level knowledge of electrical concepts, principles, methods and codes and a full knowledge of the operational aspects of both electrical equipment and systems.Currently, this open position is for 2nd shift. Schedule selection is based on seniority.Job ResponsibilitiesHere Is More Of What You Will Be DoingDiagnose and repair malfunctions in electrical equipment or control systems such as boilers, pumps, motors, generators, air compressors, fire alarms, refrigerators, overhead doors, electrical equipment on bridges or other electrical devicesInstall, repair and maintain all electrical systems under the direction of the electrical crew chiefTeamwork and clear, concise, communication with staff, venue operators and the public are essential for safe and efficient operationsTroubleshoot systems which include some electronicsInstall lighting fixtures, power outlets, control devices, heaters, thermostats, computer cables or cathodic protection equipmentRun conduit and pull wire for new and/or existing electrical installationsModify or rewire existing electrical installationsConduct preventative maintenance on electrical and electronic equipmentPurchase and/or order electrical supplies or parts from vendors, warehouse or distributorsReview blueprints, electrical schematics, project plans and specifications of electrical equipment installationsReplace ballasts, drivers & fuses, changes lamps in LED, fluorescent, HID and incandescent lighting fixturesInstall temporary power systems for special eventsQualificationsMinimum QualificationsRequires completion of an accepted four-year apprenticeship training program and journey-level electrician status (or an equivalent combination of education and/or training and/or experience).You will be successful in this role if you have:Comprehensive knowledge of current electrical systems, including working knowledge of computerized lighting and control systemsAbility to assess and plan work tasks and provide progress reportsAbility to navigate computer-based email, time keeping, materials management, work order management system and progress reportingMonitor and communicate clear and concise on phones and VHF radiosAbility to work collaboratively with other work units and clientsStrong communication skills both verbally and in writingExcellent customer service skills and experienceKnowledge and skill in observing safety issues and requirementsDesire in continuing history of industry developmentLicense, Certification And Other RequirementsState of Washington, (EL01) - Journey Level, Electrical LicenseWashington State Driver licenseWork Environment/Physical DemandsStand, walk, or bend for extended periods of timeLift objects weighing in excess of 50 poundsWork outdoors in all types of weatherWork in confined spaces or at heights from ladders and scaffoldsIndividual schedules are 4 – 10-hour days or 5 – 8-hour days, weekend days may be part of normal schedule. 1st shift is 5 am to 3:30 pm and 2nd shift is 12 pm to 10:30 pm. Schedule selection is based on seniority. Shift schedules and hours worked may change to best meet the needs of the Seattle Center. Currently, the open position is 2nd shift. Additional InformationThe full pay range for this step-progression position is $58.23 - $62.99 per hour. New employees begin at Step 1 of the pay progression, which is $58.23 hourly.
