Quality Engineer (Full-Time) Greater Providence Area (Fully Onsite)Comp: Salary + BenefitsWe are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support manufacturing operations through continuous improvement, quality system development, and process optimization. This role is responsible for improving product quality, reducing waste, implementing corrective actions, and developing robust manufacturing processes that drive operational excellence.The Quality Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements, perform root cause analysis, develop quality control methods, and support new equipment and process implementation. This position requires a hands-on engineer with strong analytical skills, manufacturing experience, and a passion for continuous improvement.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement process control methods to improve quality, increase efficiency, and eliminate waste.Lead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies and implement sustainable corrective actions.Develop, review, and maintain FMEAs, control plans, work instructions, and quality documentation.Complete and approve Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation for new and existing products.Design and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) to validate process improvements and optimize manufacturing performance.Evaluate manufacturing processes and implement procedural improvements to reduce scrap, rework, and defects.Conduct internal quality audits and supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.Manage Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs) for tooling, equipment, and process improvement projects.Support new equipment selection, installation, validation, and production readiness.Train operators, supervisors, and production personnel on quality standards, inspection methods, and process controls.Analyze quality metrics and manufacturing data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Collaborate with engineering, production, maintenance, and quality teams to improve manufacturing performance.Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives, waste reduction efforts, and operational excellence projects.Ensure compliance with company quality systems, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical discipline.Minimum of 5 years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and DOE.Experience conducting root cause analysis using methodologies such as 5 Why, Fishbone, or similar problem-solving tools.Knowledge of quality management systems and internal auditing practices.Experience working with supplier quality and manufacturing process improvements.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and statistical analysis software.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to lead projects independently and work effectively with cross-functional teams.Preferred QualificationsASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Certified Quality Technician (CQT).Experience with metallurgy or metal manufacturing processes.Experience supporting Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.Experience with capital equipment implementation and manufacturing process optimization.
