Grounds Supervisor
Position Overview Under the direction of the Manager of Maintenance and Operations, the Ground Supervisor oversees the district’s grounds‑keeping services. Responsibilities include organizing staff work, approving time off, evaluating performance, conducting inspections, and maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment.
Responsibilities Organize horticultural care of campus grounds to ensure safety, cleanliness and attractiveness.
Analyze employee performance, develop evaluations and devise strategies to address performance issues.
Ensure subordinate staff attend safety training, maintain OSHA compliance, and obtain necessary certifications; conduct monthly staff trainings on safe practices, techniques, irrigation maintenance and equipment operation.
Review purchase requisitions for funds, quantities and accuracy.
Participate in the district’s recruitment process to assist supervisors in hiring full‑time and part‑time staff.
Schedule work assignments to keep campus areas cleaned, maintained and functional.
Perform time‑keeping functions, prepare attendance logs, overtime assignments, accident reports and other required reports to ensure compliance with bargaining unit contracts and district policies.
Qualifications High‑school graduation or equivalent.
Five years of experience in grounds‑keeping operations.
Three years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
Class C Driver’s License.
California Applicators License (must be obtained within 12 months of hire if not already held).
Aquatic Facility Operator License (must be obtained within 12 months of hire if not already held).
Proof of U.S. work eligibility.
Successful completion of a background check (including Live Scan) and tuberculosis screening.
Non‑sponsorship of visa applications.

Salary & Benefits Salary: $8,275.64 – $10,171.44 monthly.
Benefits: 100% covered medical, dental and vision for employee and dependents (no payroll deduction).
