Sushi Chef

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, with expertise in sushi preparation and presentation. This role requires a commitment to food safety and quality, as well as creativity in menu planning to deliver an exceptional dining experience in our fine dining restaurant. Our restaurant is open for dinner service from 16:00- 21:30. Hourly pay rate is based on skills level and experience PLUS tips & negotiable after probationary period. Responsibilities Prepare and present high-quality sushi dishes in accordance with restaurant standards. Ensure all food is prepared safely and adheres to food safety regulations. Collaborate with the kitchen team to design and update the sushi menu, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and sushi preparation areas. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and best practices. Engage with guests to provide information about menu items and receive feedback on their dining experience. Qualifications Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques related to sushi preparation. Experience in a high-volume kitchen environment, preferably in fine dining or catering settings. Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in food presentation. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team. Passion for culinary arts and continuous learning about new trends in sushi cuisine. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour Benefits: Flexible schedule Work Location: In person
