Payroll Specialist
Description We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations for a team of approximately 300 employees. This is a Long-term Contract position offering a stable opportunity for a highly organized candidate with recent hands-on Paylocity experience and advanced Excel skills. The ideal candidate will manage recurring payroll activities with accuracy, maintain organized records, and help ensure timely processing for both salaried and hourly staff.Responsibilities:- Administer end-to-end payroll processing for a workforce of roughly 300 employees, including both exempt and non-exempt team members.- Complete semi-monthly payroll cycles with a strong focus on timeliness, compliance, and data accuracy.- Review payroll data, validate earnings and deductions, and resolve discrepancies before final submission.- Use Paylocity to maintain payroll records and execute regular payroll-related tasks based on current employee information.- Prepare payroll-related spreadsheet files and support journal entry imports into QuickBooks using Excel-based templates.- Reconcile payroll figures and assist with documentation needed for reporting, audits, and internal recordkeeping.- Collaborate with relevant internal stakeholders to address payroll questions and support smooth day-to-day operations.- Track payroll changes such as compensation updates, hour adjustments, and other employee payment details to ensure accurate processing. Requirements - Recent practical experience processing payroll within Paylocity is required.- Strong Excel skills, including the ability to work confidently with payroll data and file imports, are essential.- Demonstrated experience handling full-cycle payroll for both hourly and salaried employees.- Ability to manage recurring payroll in a deadline-driven environment with a high degree of accuracy.- Familiarity with payroll journal entries and payroll-related imports is required.- QuickBooks exposure is helpful, though training can be provided.- Excellent attention to detail, organizational ability, and problem-solving skills are necessary for success in this role.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
