Warehouse Associate/Driver - CDL, Class A Required
Warehouse Associate/Local Truck Driver With CDL AThis position is responsible for the transfer of materials, products, and other general commodities from the main manufacturing plant to a local warehouse across the street. This position will be responsible for loading and unloading a semi-trailer using a forklift and other miscellaneous warehouse duties. This position is 95% warehouse, requiring the driver to move product between the manufacturing plant and our warehouse across the street.
Work Schedule:
1st Shift:6:00 AM - 2:00 PM Monday - Friday
Responsibilities:
Receive and follow dispatch orders/instructions.
Conduct pre and post trip inspection of vehicle at specified intervals.
Operate forklift and perform loading and unloading.
Support production from off-site warehouse in any way that is needed.
Drive semi-trailer observing Department of Transportation, State, Federal and RTP Company guidelines safe driving rules and regulations.
Communicate with Shipping & Receiving, Maintenance, Safety, on breakdowns, accidents, product damage, emergencies, and other issues.
Fuel vehicle at approved locations.
Prepare all trip records and DOT logs daily. Use ELD's (electronic log device) as required.
Participate in Company meetings and quality improvement activities.
Strong knowledge of safety regulations and traffic laws.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills and AbilitiesMust frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
Must be dependable and have excellent attendance
Must have ability to work with minimal supervision
Must have ability to make decisions within the scope of the job responsibilities
Must have a positive attitude
Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed
Must be willing and able to work in temperature extremes hot and cold
Must be able to pass a forklift test
Must be able to pass a respirator fit test
Attendance is an essential function of the position
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Education and ExperienceMust have a valid and unrestricted Class A CDL driver's license
Must have and maintain a satisfactory (as rated by DOT) driving record
Preferred high school diploma or equivalent
Must have a strong work ethic
Must have a strong safety awareness
Preferred forklift experience
2 years' truck driving experience
