This role goes beyond transactional HR — it is a culture steward position, helping to ensure that every teammate, from our corporate office to our partner clinic sites, experiences the values of Collaborative Excellence, Unbending Integrity, and Patient-Centered Care in how they are hired, onboarded, supported, and developed. The ideal candidate is a people-first HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, communicates with warmth and professionalism, and is comfortable operating fluidly across in-office, remote, and multi-site virtual settings alongside a distributed team.This is a primarily onsite position based in Glendale, CA, with a 1–2 remote day allowance per week based on business needs and role responsibilities. Periodic travel within California may also be required to support site-level HR needs.Key ResponsibilitiesCulture & Employee Experience:Serve as a champion of Health Bridge's mission, vision, and values in every HR touchpoint — from recruiting through offboardingSupport internal culture-building initiatives, including employee recognition programs, onboarding experiences, and engagement efforts aligned with our Virtuous Cycle modelPartner with leadership to reinforce a workplace culture defined by inclusion, accountability, and purpose-driven workHelp communicate and model company values with consistency across all teammate interactions, whether in person or virtuallyEmployee Relations & HR SupportServe as a first point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, leave, and workplace concernsSupport managers with performance management processes, documentation, and corrective action proceduresEscalate complex employee relations matters to HR leadership as appropriateRecruitment & OnboardingCollaborate closely with a dedicated Recruiting Assistant to support full-cycle recruiting activities including job postings, applicant tracking, interview scheduling, and offer letter processingProvide strategic oversight and HR expertise to the recruiting function, ensuring hiring practices remain compliant, values-aligned, and candidate-focusedFacilitate new hire onboarding with a strong emphasis on cultural integration, values alignment, and connection to the company's mission from day oneMaintain and update job descriptions in alignment with evolving organizational needsCompliance & RecordkeepingEnsure HR practices comply with applicable federal and California state employment laws, including FEHA, CFRA, PDL, and FLSAMaintain accurate and confidential employee records in Rippling or other HRIS platformsSupport audits, reporting requirements, and HR policy updates as directedLeave AdministrationAdminister employee leave requests including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and other applicable leavesTrack leave usage, communicate with employees and managers, and ensure proper documentation throughout the leave lifecycleBenefits & Payroll SupportAssist employees with benefits enrollment questions and coordinate with benefits vendors as neededSupport semi-monthly payroll processing by providing accurate and timely HR data updatesQualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experienceMinimum 2–3 years of HR generalist or specialist experienceWorking knowledge of California employment law and HR compliance requirementsStrong technology proficiency, including HRIS platforms (Rippling experience a plus), Microsoft Office, and video conferencing tools such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams — essential for supporting a distributed, hybrid workforceDemonstrated ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively in a primarily onsite, hybrid work environmentStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to connect authentically with teammates at all levels, in person and virtuallyDemonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment, including with support staff and cross-functional partnersAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretionAbility to travel within California as neededPreferredExperience in a healthcare, FQHC, or multi-site organizationPHR or SHRM-CP certificationFamiliarity with multi-state employment law and HR compliance across jurisdictions — candidates with hands-on HR experience in states outside of California will receive strong considerationExperience supporting remote or hybrid teams across multiple locationsBenefitsCompetitive Salary Health Insurance Stipend Primarily Onsite with 1–2 Remote Day Allowance Per Week Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Sick Leave 7 Paid Holidays per Year Professional Development Hours Offered AnnuallyPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe work environment includes a combination of corporate office, remote/home office, and partner clinic or FQHC settings. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.This is a primarily onsite role with a 1–2 remote day allowance per week, and requires comfort working in a technology-enabled environment, including regular video conferencing with remote teammates and partner site staff on both in-office and remote days. Periodic travel within California, including occasional overnight stays, may be required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods, use hands to operate a computer, and communicate clearly in person and over the phone. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
