CNC Operator / Setup Machinist

About UsMac-it is a precision manufacturing company looking for a skilled, hands-on CNC Operator to join our production team. If you have experience setting up and running CNC mills and automatic lathes, we want to talk to you. Position SummarySet up and operate CNC machines to produce precision machined parts by executing complex tooling setups, interpreting technical drawings, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies. Core ResponsibilitiesMachine Setup & OperationSet up and operate CNC mills and lathesInstall and adjust tooling, fixtures, vises, collets, bushings, and stopsInput and verify machine instructions (offsets, zero points, compensation settings)Plan machining sequences and execute complex setups Machining & ProductionPerform turning, forming, threading, drilling, punching, and related operationsRun first-piece validation and verify part accuracyMaintain production flow and meet delivery requirements Quality & InspectionInterpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and GD&T specificationsUse measuring instruments and gauges to verify part accuracyPerform in-process inspections and basic quality checksApply SPC and problem-solving techniques as needed Tooling & MaintenanceDiagnose machining and equipment issuesAdjust, reprogram, and optimize machine performancePerform routine maintenance and tool replacementMaintain equipment and work area cleanliness Production Support & DocumentationMaintain accurate production and quality recordsHandle parts processing (counting, tagging, cleaning, and routing finished parts)Remove chips and maintain machine readinessEnsure proper material flow to downstream operationsTrain and support other operators as needed Safety & HousekeepingMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentFollow all safety protocols and operating procedures QualificationsRequired5+ years of machining experience (mills required, lathes preferred)Strong setup experience on CNC and/or multi-spindle machinesAbility to read blueprints and interpret GD&TProficiency with measuring tools and inspection methodsMechanical troubleshooting skills PreferredExperience training or mentoring operators Work ScheduleMonday–Thursday, four 10-hour shifts Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive hourly pay: $25–$30+ based on experienceHealth insuranceSimple IRAEfficiency bonus Success Profile (What Good Looks Like)Consistently produces high-quality parts with minimal scrapEfficiently sets up machines with limited downtimeIdentifies and resolves machining issues quicklyMaintains strong safety and housekeeping standardsSupports team productivity and knowledge sharing
