This role acts as the final escalation point for complex technical issues while also leading infrastructure projects and advising client leadership on best-fit IT solutions.The ideal candidate is a seasoned systems engineer who combines deep technical expertise with strong problem-solving skills, project ownership, and the ability to communicate confidently with both technical teams and client executives.The candidate will be working in our Glen Allen Virginia office.Key Responsibilities:Technical Leadership & EscalationsServe as the final escalation point for Tier I and Tier II support teamsTroubleshoot and resolve complex, high-impact issues across client environmentsPerform deep root-cause analysis and implement long-term, sustainable solutionsMentor and guide Tier I & II engineers on advanced troubleshooting and best practicesInfrastructure & Project DeliveryLead and execute projects related to clients overall IT infrastructure, including:Server deployments and migrationsVirtualization platformsNetwork architecture improvementsCloud initiativesSecurity enhancementsOwn projects from design through implementation and documentationBalance project work with high-priority operational supportClient Advisory & StrategyAct as a trusted technical advisor to client points of contact and C-level stakeholdersTranslate business needs into secure, scalable, and cost-effective IT solutionsProvide guidance on infrastructure roadmap planning and technology decisionsCommunicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiencesTechnical Expertise Required:Advanced knowledge of:Microsoft 365 platform including Entra, Exchange, Intune, PurviewWindows and/or Linux server environmentsGoogle Workspace Admin platformVirtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar)Networking (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs)Public and private cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.)Cybersecurity principles and best practicesStrong troubleshooting methodology and documentation skillsExperience operating in a managed services or multi-client environment preferredProfessional Skills & Attributes:Self-directed and comfortable owning complex problems end-to-endStrong research skills and persistence when dealing with ambiguous issuesExcellent written and verbal communicationCalm and methodical under pressureAble to balance technical depth with business awarenessBenefits & CompensationHealth Care Reimbursement Account (HRA):$400/month tax-free for employees$800/month tax-free for employees with dependentsEligible after 90 days of employment(Health insurance required to participate; funds may be used for premiums, dental, vision, medical copays, and prescriptions)Paid Time Off: 120 hours accrued annually, eligible after 90 days of employment.
