Job Description:HARRISONVILLE R-IX SCHOOL DISTRICTPosition Title: ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT of HUMAN RESOURCES & OPERATIONSEducation Requirements? State of Missouri Teacher Certification? Education Specialist Degree with emphasis in Educational Leadership and Superintendency? State of Missouri Administrator or Superintendent CertificateKnowledge/Skills Requirements? Five years previous administrative and/or supervisory experience.? Ability to work effectively with personnel as individuals and in groups.? Demonstrate poise, leadership, initiative, vitality, and high purpose essential to success as an educator.? Ability to agreeably communicate verbally and in written communications with the various school publics.? Knowledgeable in areas of personnel, public school finance, school facilities, public school organization, public relations, curriculum, instruction, and assessment.Working Conditions? Maintain regular office hours Monday through Friday except when away at meetings representing the district,? Spend the necessary time required to fulfill the duties of the position.? Be a member and participant in the activities of professional organizations.? Attend or send personnel to appropriate professional meetings at the local, state, andnational level.? Work cooperatively with administration and staff throughout the district.Position Responsibilities? Oversee maintenance and custodial services, food service, district health services, and transportation.? Serve as migrant and homeless coordinator.? Provide support to the building level principals regarding student issues as well as serve as the hearing officer for long-term and out-of-school suspensions for the district.? Provide district leadership in recruitment, screening, hiring, training, and assigning the district's certified, classified and substitute staff.? Oversee the planning of facility improvements for the district.? Serve as the district's safety coordinator, oversee the district's Crisis Preparedness and Readiness Plans.? Administer/coordinate the school district's compliance with regulations implementing Title VI and Title IX federal statues.? Administer/coordinate affirmative action and sexual harassment complaints, response strategies, and in-service activities for the district.? Review and revise board policies as needed.? Assist the Superintendent and the Director or Business Services with budget development and implementation.? Submit reports as requested by district, county, state, and federal agencies related to their areas of responsibility.?
