Electronics Assembler - 2nd shift
PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electronics Assembler in Austin, Texas for a 7 month contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This onsite 2nd shift position supports the assembly of electronic components, subassemblies, and systems by following detailed written work instructions and process documentation. The role requires hands-on electronic and mechanical assembly experience, strong soldering capability, and the ability to work to IPC and customer standards in a production environment. Required Skills Two years of high school or trade school education Experience assembling electronic components, assemblies, subassemblies, and modules using samples, visual aids, prints, diagrams, written instructions, and process sheets Experience performing mechanical assembly operations in the build of electronic assemblies Experience using standard measuring tools and techniques Experience with electronic assembly operations such as wire termination, wire harness installation, cable assemblies, relays, transformers, capacitors, resistors, and related electronic components Experience fabricating wires on a jig board or harness board to specification Ability to route, dress, lace, tie, and terminate conductors to required dimensions Experience pre-staging circuit card kits and forming components using machines or hand devices Experience operating solder machines and cleaning boards to manufacturing specifications Familiarity with J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 Ability to solder to IPC standards Ability to identify electronic components and orient them correctly on a circuit board according to polarity Ability to use measurement tools such as scales, micrometers, and calipers Ability to work under a microscope Computer competency and English literacy U.S. citizenship required Ability to pass J-STD-001 modules 1 6 as a condition of continued employment What You'll Do Assemble electronic components, subassemblies, and systems by following written work instructions Perform mechanical assembly operations for electronic assemblies Complete wire termination, harness installation, cable assembly, and component installation tasks Fabricate and bundle wires on a harness board in accordance with drawing and specification requirements Prepare wires by routing, dressing, and terminating conductors to specific dimensions Pre-stage circuit card kits and form components using machines or hand tools Operate select solder machines and clean boards to manufacturing control specifications Perform additional assembly and production support duties as required Work Schedule / Shift Training on day shift Transition to 2nd shift Monday through Thursday 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM Pay $27.41/hour Job ID: 7436 Military veterans and transitioning military members are encouraged to apply to all PGS Worldwide positions.
