Job DescriptionThe Internal Audit Associate is responsible for supporting the evaluation and improvement of Stride’s control environment, contributing to the execution of the internal audit plan, and helping to strengthen policies, procedures, and overall business processes. This role assists with operational, financial, compliance, and information systems-related audit activities and helps create value for the business through risk-based reviews and practical recommendations.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.Support the execution of internal audits as part of the overall Audit PlanAssist with planning, walkthroughs, testing, and documentation for operational, financial, compliance, and/or information systems auditsPrepare clear and accurate workpapers to document audit procedures performed, results, and conclusionsTrack audit status, requests, findings, and remediation activitiesAttend meetings with process owners and other stakeholders to support audit activitiesIdentify control gaps, process improvement opportunities, and operational inefficienciesProvide recommendations to enhance and improve control procedures, operations, systems, and automationAssist in follow-up procedures to assess the status of management action plans and remediation effortsSupport special projects, risk assessments, and other assignments as requested by Internal Audit and/or managementMaintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive informationSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no current formal supervisory responsibilities.Minimum Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or a related field0–2 years of relevant experience in internal audit, external audit, risk, compliance, accounting, finance, or a related areaStrong written and verbal communication skillsMicrosoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); web proficiencyAbility to analyze information, organize work, and manage multiple tasks in a professional environmentAbility to clear required background checkCertificates And LicensesNone requiredDesired QualificationsInternship or prior experience in audit, accounting, compliance, risk management, or information systemsBasic understanding of internal controls, auditing concepts, and risk assessment principlesAbility to analyze and solve problems relating to auditing, business processes, systems, and related disciplinesStrong organizational skills, with the ability to appropriately prioritize workload while showing resilience and calmness under pressureEffective communication skills, both oral and writtenExcellent interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligenceStrong ability to take initiative and work both independently and collaborativelyAbility to foster a friendly and inclusive work environment for team members and clientsDemonstrated high level of integrityFamiliarity with data analysis, systems, or technology-enabled processes is a plusCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range. We anticipate the salary range to be $48,515 and $77,624. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions.
