This is an academic year 10-month contract. The contract is expected to begin August 1, 2026.Responsibilities1 -* Develop and teach a variety of courses in chemistry, ranging from general education courses to upper-division courses for Biological Sciences and/or Environmental Science majors; some online teaching may be required, as needed2 -* Maintain on-campus office hours; prepare lesson plans, syllabi (including course objectives), lectures, and other course materials such as quizzes and exams; and submit final grades and attendance reports on time.3 -* Engagement in professional development, service, and scholarship activities.4 -* Travel to fulfill instructional or other duties, including to the Brunswick Campus or the Camden Center location.5 -* Maintain a commitment to high-impact educational practices and student success.6 -* Other related duties as assigned.Required QualificationsEducational Requirements* Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Environmental Chemistry, or a closely-related discipline with a minimum of 18 graduate level credits in chemistry.Other Required Qualifications* Commitment to highly effective and engaging science education.* Commitment to implementing experiential learning and high-impact educational practices in the classroom, lab, and/or field.Required Experience* Successful teaching experience at the collegiate level.Preferred QualificationsPreferred ExperienceExpertise or strong background in biochemistry or environmental chemistry.Experience with in-person and online/hybrid instruction.Recent experience teaching college-level courses in chemistryExperience mentoring undergraduate research especially through Course-based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs).Experience developing and implementing innovative pedagogy.Contact InformationFor more information or questions about a job posting, please contact the Department of Human Resources at (912) 279.5740, or by email at careers@ccga.edu.
