Civil Designer/engineering Technician

Position: Civil Designer/Engineering Technician Position Overview: Suozzo, Doty & Associates Professional Engineering, PLLC (SDA) is looking for Civil Designer/Engineering Technician to join our talented and growing firm! SDA has offices in Bolton Landing and Lake Placid, New York and this position can be in either location. We are a full service Civil and Environmental Engineering Firm, and we serve the public, private, institutional and non-profit sectors. This position is best suited for someone who has a solid work ethic, can work in a team environment, has good AutoCAD skills and a desire to learn and advance their career. This person will also be responsible for assisting our various field data collection efforts related to flow monitoring and water sampling. This person would be working with project managers and firm leadership on the development of projects and will have the opportunity to grow their career! Position Qualifications · High School Diploma (or equivalent). · Associates Degree in Civil Technology, Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering preferred. · Significant working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D. Two years of professional experience in using AutoCAD preferred but not required. · Working knowledge of other modeling programs (HydroCAD, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, etc.) also a plus. Position Responsibilities · Assisting project engineers and project managers in the development of a wide array of projects. Projects may include but not be limited to: o water supply, distribution and treatment o wastewater conveyance and treatment o stormwater management and green infrastructure design o municipal facilities design o environmental benefit project design o recreation facility design o site design · Development of project documents including engineering plans, specifications, permitting and funding applications · Field investigations to support design · Field work supporting flow monitoring and water quality, wastewater characterization sampling efforts. · Potential for construction observation SDA offers a competitive compensation package for this position that is commensurate with experience.
