Key Responsibilities
Divisional Accounting & Financial Oversight
Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process for the Infrastructure Group, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Manage divisional general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and job cost accounting functions
Prepare and present divisional financial statements, variance analyses, and performance reports to senior leadership
Develop and manage annual divisional budgets; monitor actuals vs. budget and provide actionable insights
Oversee Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedule preparation, review, and analysis across all active projects
Ensure compliance with GAAP, company accounting policies, and applicable regulatory requirements
Coordinate with the Corporate Controller and CFO on consolidated reporting, audits, and financial strategy
Manage divisional cash flow forecasting and optimize billing cycles to support healthy liquidity
Project Controls & Cost Management
Partner with Project Managers and Superintendents to establish project budgets, cost codes, and WBS structures at project inception
Implement and enforce robust cost control procedures to keep projects within budget parameters throughout the lifecycle
Track project financial performance using earned value analysis, cost variance reporting, and schedule impact assessments
Prepare detailed monthly cost-to-complete forecasts and cash flow projections for all active infrastructure projects
Monitor and audit subcontractor billings, change order logs, and contract compliance
Identify potential cost overruns early and work collaboratively with project teams to develop corrective action plans
Conduct monthly project financial reviews with field teams to validate costs, quantities, and progress
Maintain accurate project financial records in Procore and SAGE; ensure data integrity across all platforms
Team Leadership & Process Improvement
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing divisional finance team; foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
Streamline communication and reporting workflows between accounting, project management, and field operations
Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and the speed of financial decision-making
Assist in onboarding new projects and project teams, providing financial training and tools to support success
Ideal Candidate Profile
6+ years of progressive accounting and/or project controls experience, with at least 3 years in a construction environment
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Construction Management required; CPA or similar certification a plus
Deep expertise in construction job cost accounting, WIP reporting, and project financial management
Strong understanding of the full construction project lifecycle—from pre-construction and buyout through closeout
Proficiency in SAGE (strongly preferred) and Procore; advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
Hands‑on experience with earned value analysis, cost‑to‑complete forecasting, and change order management
Exceptional analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to translate complex data into clear insights
Proven communicator who can present financial information confidently to project teams, executives, and external stakeholders
