Company Tools Kits Provided What you will do as a Fire Door and Fire Damper Technician : Perform detailed inspections of fire doors, frames, and hardware per NFPA 80 and other relevant codes. Inspect existing fire dampers to verify they function correctly and meet current safety codes. Identify deficiencies and non-compliance issues and document findings accurately using our state-of-the-art tablet and software. Repair faulty dampers by fixing or replacing components like actuators, blades, and seals to restore proper operation. Replace damaged, obsolete, or non-compliant fire dampers with new units to ensure compartmentalization and life safety during a fire. Communicate professionally with clients, explaining inspection results and necessary repairs. Read and interpret blueprints and life safety drawings. Use common hand tools and diagnostic equipment. Maintain a clean job site and adhere to strict safety and infection control guidelines (hospital settings). Balance local projects with national travel. A strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and Life Safety Plans (beneficial). Excellent communication and customer service skills.
