Maintenance mechanic 3rd shift

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Maintenance Mechanic working the 3rd shift at our Vernon Hills, IL location. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and packaging machinery to ensure optimal functionality. Additional responsibilities include performing routine preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures and operational standards. The role also involves collaborating with the production team to minimize downtime and support continuous manufacturing processes. Qualifications Proficiency in equipment maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems as well as skills in welding and fabrication.Experience with interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and mechanical schematics.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve machinery issues.Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Familiarity with safety protocols and compliance standards for workplace equipment and operations.Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is preferred.Previous experience in a manufacturing or food production setting is a plus.Flexible availability to work the 3rd shift and overtime as needed.
