Changing the life of patients through Data Visualization!The JobThe Senior Data Visualization Specialist is a core creative member of the Data Visualization Team, a multidisciplinary collaboration that specializes in data visualization and offers expertise in data mining, information design, and visual storytelling. The Senior Data Visualization Specialist is responsible for translating complex content into effective visualizations – helping the team design, develop, and deliver a wide range of communication materials for our healthcare clients. The Senior Data Visualization Specialist will serve as an informal mentor and manager to junior team members.Essential FunctionsData Analysis | Interrogates, interprets, and identifies meaningful insights from health data.Data Visualization | Conceptualizes and generates visual content approaches, including infographics, maps, charts, and graphs, to transform health data into digestible compelling visuals and experiencesCross Functional Collaboration | Collaborate with teams across the IPG Health network and support strategic, data-driven storytelling across brands.Job Duties / ResponsibilitiesData Analysis Work alongside Data Visualization Team members to generate novel data-focused stories to complement and/or enhance brand team work Owns the analysis and translation of data into visual content, including infographics, charts and graphs, to meet communication objectives. Informally mentors and trains junior Data Visualization team members.Data Visualization Generate a wide range of thought-provoking information design and recommended data structure using our core principles (smart, simplified, and story-driven)– which would be further enhanced by Data Designer colleague Proactively explore new and innovative visual approaches and techniques for data storytelling – to share back with the group and incorporate into best practices. Effectively communicates and presents concepts and other project-related work to clients.Cross Functional Collaboration Collaborate with teams across the IPG Health network and support strategic, data-driven storytelling across brands Partner with our design / brand production team for miscellaneous digital assets and support to ensure thoughtful and seamless execution of client deliverables.EducationAssociates or Bachelor’s DegreeArea Of StudyInformation Science, Computer Science, Math, Research, or related areaExperience4 years of work experience:Minimum Experience2 years in data visualizationArea Of ExpertiseData visualization, infographics/graphic design, and interactive visual storytellingRequired/PreferredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Strong Proficiency with data visualization tools, such as Datawrapper, Flourish, Power BI and Tableau Knowledge of JavaScript (experience with React, jQuery are a plus) Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (emphasis on Illustrator and Photoshop) Knowledge of visualization tools such as D3 or other libraries(e.g. Angular, Three.js, WebGL, and QGIS) Experience analyzing data with code (Python, R, or Node) Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Office applications) or equivalent programs.
