Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, excellent leadership abilities, and a passion for driving financial success within the organization. Key Responsibilities: Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts. Analyze financial performance and key metrics to provide insights and recommendations for improvement. Collaborate with senior management to develop strategic financial goals and objectives. Accounting and Reporting: Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records and adherence to GAAP standards. Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management. Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow projections and manage cash balances to optimize liquidity. Implement effective cash management policies and procedures to minimize risk and maximize returns. Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, tax filings, and financial regulations. Coordinate and manage external audits and tax filings as necessary. Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks. Financial Strategy and Decision Support: Provide strategic financial guidance and analysis to support business decisions and initiatives. Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains within the finance function. Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning. Set clear performance expectations and goals for the team, and provide regular feedback and coaching. Promote professional development and growth opportunities for team members. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred. Proven experience (5+ years) in a senior finance role, preferably within the construction or contracting industry. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards. Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques. Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and ERP systems. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights. Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams. High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
