DescriptionDepartment: Underground ConstructionLocation: RochesterEmployment Type: Full-TimePay Range: $18.00 – $23.00 per hourPosition SummaryWe are seeking reliable and hardworking Construction Laborer (Underground Utilities) to support underground construction operations. This role assists with jobsite preparation, material handling, equipment operation, and general labor tasks to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform general labor tasks including digging, backfilling, site cleanup, and material handlingStage tools, materials, and equipment for daily operationsSupport drill operators, locators, and foremen with jobsite activitiesMaintain clean, organized, and safe work areasAssist with operating hydrovac equipment under supervision to expose underground utilitiesFollow established safety procedures and crew instructionsRequired QualificationsAbility to follow directions and work effectively as part of a crewWillingness to learn construction tasks and safety proceduresBasic physical stamina and mechanical aptitudeDeveloping communication skills suitable for jobsite environmentsStrong reliability and safety awarenessPhysical & Work RequirementsAbility to lift, carry, and move materials up to 75 lbsThis role requires the operation of a company vehicle. A valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and the ability to maintain insurability under the company's auto policy are essential Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and climb for extended periodsAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)Ability to work around heavy equipment, noise, and vibrationConsistent attendance and punctualitySchedule & TravelMonday–Friday, approximately 40–50 hours per weekWeekend work as neededTravel up to 50% (Local Regional)Compensation & BenefitsOur job titles may span more than one career level. The pay-range for this position is $18.00/hr - $23.00/hr. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
