Project Manager ConstructionLocation: Berkeley, CAEmployment Type: Full-TimeCompensation: $100,000$150,000 (DOE) + bonus + profit sharingThe Construction Project Manager will oversee all phases of commercial and multi-family construction projects across Northern California, from preconstruction through completion. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and financial acumen to manage schedules, budgets, and teams effectively. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment, fosters collaboration between field and office teams, and is committed to delivering high-quality projects safely, on time, and within budget.Must HavesBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experienceMinimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager overseeing ground-up and renovation projectsProven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from pre-construction through closeoutStrong understanding of construction practices, means and methods, and building systemsDemonstrated experience managing budgets, schedules, and contracts effectivelyExcellent communication, leadership, and organizational skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and project management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, & ProcoreStrong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skillsAbility to lead project teams and foster collaboration across departmentsCommitment to maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standardsNice to HavesExperience managing self-performed work in concrete, framing, or other tradesBackground in commercial and multi-family construction projectsHistory of mentoring project engineers or junior staffFamiliarity with both private and public sector construction environmentsExperience working with repeat clients and maintaining long-term relationshipsUnderstanding of pre-construction processes including estimating and buyoutExperience with mixed-use or hospitality projectsDemonstrated ability to drive project profitability through value engineering and cost controlResponsibilitiesManage all phases of construction projects including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and executionLead project teams to ensure adherence to design, scope, budget, and timelinesCollaborate with field superintendents to maintain job-site safety, quality, and schedule complianceOversee and approve subcontractor agreements, purchase orders, and change ordersTrack costs, prepare progress billings, and manage cash flow for assigned projectsReview subcontractor invoices and vendor payments for accuracy and complianceMaintain up-to-date project documentation, RFIs, submittals, and change management logsConduct regular project meetings and communicate progress with clients and stakeholdersEnsure compliance with all contract requirements, specifications, and building codesProactively identify and resolve project issues, conflicts, and risksPromote a culture of safety and quality across all project activitiesServe as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycleRepresent the company's values of integrity, teamwork, and continuous improvement in all interactions
