Job OpportunityOur client, an aerospace and defense manufacturer in Sterling Heights, is seeking a metal finishing technician to join their team. As a metal finisher technician, you will be part of the assembly team supporting production goals. The ideal candidate will have ability to work independently, a strong work ethic, and reliability which will align successfully in the organization.Job Title: Metal finishing technicianLocation: Sterling Heights, MichiganPay Range: $18/hr-$20/hrShift: 1st shift: 5am-3:30pm Monday-Friday 10 hour shifts 2nd shift: 2pm-12:30am Monday-Friday 10 hour shifts Saturday is mandatory overtime typically 6-8 hoursWhat's the Job?Fabrication, assembly, installation & repair of sheet metal products and componentsSetting up fabricating machines including break press, metal muncher, rolling machine. etcAssemble components according to blueprints and specsUsing gauge tools such as height gauges, micrometers, calipers, etc...What's Needed?Proficient in using metal fabricating machinery such as break press, rolling machines, grinders, etc...Experience in qualifying sheet metal parts to fit models, check fixtures, and/or print specificationsFamiliarity with airless paint spraying and auto painting techniquesAbility to read blueprintsCapability of lifting 50 lbs unassistedWhat's in it for me?Placement in a growing field of defense and aerospaceAbility to start quickly with a clear background check and drug screenPotential direct hire or temp to hire permanent placementIf this is a role that interests you and you'd like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
