Job TitlePOSITION SUMMARY Responsible for selecting proper steels, tools, and techniques to produce parts from raw stock to finished parts, running all manual machines in tool room, as well as heat treating of tool steels, setting dies in press, welding, fabricating, and repairing broken parts without assistance. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.WORK ENVIRONMENT Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.Essential FunctionProduce precision tools such as jigs, dies, and moldsWork with 2D and 3D computer aided design and manufacturing softwareCut and shape parts using a combination of lathes, presses, grinders and cutting machinesRead blueprints and use necessary measuring devices to make or modify existing tooling for new and old job printsMake, repair, or requisition replacement parts, tooling or hardware as needed to maintain adequate stockInspect and sharpen tools and ensure tool holders are in good working condition before placing back on shelf or in tool drawersCheck tooling in and out of tool room computerSet up and operate all tool room machines for specific form tool, tap, drills, or holder for grindingAssembly of fixtures, jigs, special machines, etc.Welding, including tool steelHeat treat tool steelsPerform quality checks on partsOperate forklift and material handling equipmentTroubleshoot machine and die setupPerform major die repairSetup and operate CNC machineMaintain safe and clean working environment by complying with 6S procedures, rules, and regulationsAbility to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customersSupport the environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste, and acting on environment performance results and findingsSkills & AbilitiesPossess a firm background in Die Repair and Building including troubleshootingAbility to use measurement toolsExcellent mathematical skillsFamiliarity with basic machine maintenanceAbility to read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine requirementsUnderstanding of the properties of materialsProvide high level of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to work without independently with minimal supervisionCapable of running all manual machines in tool shopPosition QualificationsEducation: Associate's Degree preferredExperience: At least three years of experience in Tool and DieComputer Skills: Must demonstrate computer literacy; Familiarity with CAD Software including Solid Works, AutoCAD, Master CAM and die designs preferredCertificates & Licenses: Valid driver's license required; Must pass and maintain written and driving test for forklift certification as well as crane trainingOther Requirements: Must possess own tools needed for the job; Ability to be on call outside normal work hours
