Flyover attractions are located in Chicago; Las Vegas; Reykjavik, Iceland; and Vancouver, Canada.About The RoleAs part of the technical team, the Ride Operator is not only responsible for operating the ultimate flying ride, but they are expected to ensure the timing of the different segments of the attraction, staying on track and on schedule, all while keeping an eye out for the safety of the guests and team members. Ride Operators must possess excellent communication skills as well as exceptional interpersonal skills and have a positive outlook and desire to make Flyover Chicago a one-of-a-kind, wonderful experience for guests.We are hiring for seasonal part time and regular full-time GEG positions. The wage for this role is $20/hourly USD and a full breakdown of perks and benefits will be discussed during the interview process.What You'll DoDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESOperating the Flyover Chicago rideMonitoring and always ensuring guest and team member safetyCommunicating efficiently using proper radio protocolPerforming site opening and closing duties, including basic ride checksRecovering ride malfunctionsCoordinating ride evacuation in accordance with proceduresLooking out for and informing Supervisors and Technical team of safety concernsOther duties as neededIdeal Experience & SkillsBasic understanding of mechanical, electrical, computer, and technical systemsExcellent communication, interpersonal, and guest service skillsStrong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environmentPositive, adaptable, and resourceful with a proactive, team-oriented attitudeAbility to work independently while exercising sound judgment and attention to detailComfortable standing, walking, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments for extended periodsAbility to safely work at heights; fall protection training or previous experience is considered an assetAbility to lift up to 30 pounds as neededAvailability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidaysPrevious experience in attractions, amusement rides, tourism, or hospitality is preferredKnowledge of the Chicago area and local attractions is an assetPublic speaking experience and fluency in a language other than English are considered assetsWelcoming All ApplicantsAt Flyover, we value a strong team built on respect and professionalism.
