Position Summary:
We're seeking an experienced Fiber Splicing Supervisor to lead fiber splicing crews supporting telecommunications construction and maintenance projects. This role is responsible for supervising daily splicing operations, ensuring quality and safety compliance, and delivering completed work that meets DOTCOM and Charter Communications standards.
Responsibilities:
Supervise fiber splicing crews performing fusion and mechanical splicing
Plan daily work assignments and manage crew productivity
Ensure splicing work meets fiber quality, loss, and testing standards
Review OTDR, power meter, and light source test results
Read and interpret fiber route maps, splice diagrams, and construction prints
Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, and clients
Conduct quality audits, inspections, and job site safety meetings
Troubleshoot fiber issues and support restoration efforts as needed
Maintain accurate splicing documentation, as-builts, and test records
Train, mentor, and evaluate splicing technicians
Qualifications:
3 or more years of hands-on fiber splicing experience required
Prior supervisory or lead splicer experience preferred
Proficiency with fusion splicers, OTDRs, power meters, and fiber identification tools
Strong knowledge of fiber construction standards, color codes, and closures
Ability to read and interpret fiber maps, prints, and schematics
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to work outdoors and at heights as required
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
