Retail Supervisor - Hearst CastleHearst Castle overlooks the village of San Simeon & was built in 1919. The complex includes a twin-towered main building, three sumptuous guesthouses, and 127 acres of terraced gardens, fountains, and pools. The fanciful Gothic Study is the centerpiece of Hearst's private suite on the third floor of "Casa Grande" - the main building of the hilltop estate at San Simeon. The world-famous outdoor swimming pool at Hearst Castle was refilled in August 2018 after two years of restoration and repair. With water that refracts light to create a brilliant turquoise hue, the Neptune Pool is a photographer's delight.The Retail Supervisor coordinates a team of employees at an assigned location under the direction of the General Manager and Operations Manager. Responsible for interactions between management, guests, employees, and vendors.Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is $27.00. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting. For more information about Aramark benefits, click here.Job Responsibilities:Supervises the receiving and tagging of incoming merchandiseAssigns daily tasks and ensures tasks are performed correctly and in a timely manner, while maintaining high standards of customer serviceCoordinates the moving of incoming merchandise to retail office, storage area(s) and/or display floorHandles the storing of all incoming merchandise in assigned locationsEnsures correct pricing on all products on the floorMaintains customer service standardsCashiers when necessary to expedite the processing of guest's purchasingResponsible for the recording of damaged merchandiseMerchandises the floor for maximum sale of all productsWorks with team members to facilitate the stocking of the floor with appropriate levels of merchandiseLeads special projects (i.e., holidays, events, book signings, etc.) when neededCommunicates with the manager to ensure all received products are placed on the retail floor as soon as possibleLeads the maintenance of inventory levels within guidelinesFollows through with information to team members on new products or procedures applying the information book on the floorWorks with manager to always ensure full productivity on the floorInteracts with customers for possible merchandising opportunitiesTakes charge of unpacking and pricing of new merchandiseConducts periodic inventory count based on schedule established by controller and retail buyerEnsures that packing slips and invoices are reconciled by the retail clerkFully understands the point-of-sale systemFollows and implements all wage and hour standards/procedures; to include meal breaks and schedulesIn partnership with the manager, schedules staff on a weekly basis and resolves appropriate break schedules to improve floor coverage and customer serviceTrains new hires on Point of Service (POS) system, overall safety, and job responsibilitiesQualifications:Requires a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to providing world-class service to the client, guests, and co-workers.A strong knowledge of personal computers is essential.Experience in all facets of providing guest services.Must be able to lead, motivate, and communicate effectively with others.Strong organizational abilities.Preferably two years in hospitality services or like environment performing like duties as Guest Services or Concierge's supervisor.Must be able to read, write, and clearly speak English.At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.Ability to use telephone, computer, Micros Point of Service (POS) system.May be required to work overtime and/or weekends.This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing.
