Position Type:Certified - Elementary SchoolDate Posted:5/14/2026Location:RIVER RIDGE ACADEMYPOSITION PURPOSE: The Numeracy Coach will empower teachers by working directly with all stakeholders to bring about improvements in the classroom/school that will positively impact student achievement. The work of the numeracy coach will be based on scientifically based research and content knowledge.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Assist teachers in analyzing data in order to provide differentiation, track trends, support instructional decisions and plan lessons.Work with teachers to create and interpret formative and summative assessments.Plan collaboratively with teachers on a regular basis to insure that:Everyday Mathematics/SC Mathematics Standards are taught with fidelity; paced appropriatelyTeachers are familiar with the SC Standards and Support DocumentsDifferentiation is occurring in the classroomIncrease teachers' awareness of instructional resources and how to use them effectively.Provide professional development for teachers on research based instructional strategies, content and pedagogy; Plan opportunities for horizontal and vertical articulation to occur; provide training on district programs such as Gizmos, Everyday Mathematics, Curriculum Mapping, Number Worlds, graphing calculatorsCo-teach/model lessons with/for teachers.Serve as a liaison between school and district; collaborate with coaches from other schools.Observe teachers in a coaching capacity to provide feedback and support instruction.ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal, Chief Instructional Services Officer, Superintendent or other district office administrator as designated by the Superintendent. QUALIFICATIONS:Must have a valid South Carolina Professional teaching certificate or be able to obtain one within 60 days from being hired.Must be Highly Qualified in the content area or be able to become Highly Qualified within 60 days from being hired.Master's degree in Elementary/Middle School or Math preferred; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.EXPERIENCE: Three to five years experience as a Math/Science teacher or elementary grade level preferred.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and functions of the job and are not meant to be all inclusive.
