Overview In this QA Engineer role, you will own test planning, functional and exploratory testing, and UAT across zerohash’s product stack. You’ll shape testing practices as the team scales, ensuring release quality with visibility into multiple product areas. You work closely with engineers, SDETs, and product managers to improve coverage and drive faster, reliable releases. This is a hands-on, impact-focused opportunity in a regulated fintech environment that values quality and collaboration. ResponsibilitiesDesign, document, and execute functional and exploratory test cases for API- and SDK-based product flowsContribute to automation on an ad hoc basis to address tech debt and gaps in critical flowsCollaborate with product managers, developers, and SDETs to translate acceptance criteria into test scenariosOwn regression testing and support release-readiness activitiesHelp formalize and run User Acceptance Testing across product and engineeringLog, triage, and track defects with clear repro steps and resolve themFlag coverage gaps for deeper automated testing and coordinate with developersTest across dev, cert, and prod environments and participate in release readiness reviews Key requirements5+ years of QA or test engineering experience in fintech, payments, or API-driven environmentsStrong experience across SDLC QA processes: test planning, data setup, execution, defect management, release sign-offSkilled at designing test cases and exploratory testing; able to test REST/JSON APIs using Postman or cURLExperience with BDD-style testing (Gherkin/Cucumber)Proficient in automated testing with Playwright or Selenium for ad hoc tasks and automation debtProficiency in at least one scripting language (JavaScript/TypeScript or Python) for test automationWorking knowledge of SQL for data verification and Git-based workflows (GitHub)Experience with Jira and Confluence for planning and documentationExperience with test management/UAT tools (TestRail, Zephyr)Clear, detailed written communication for bug reports and test plansComfortable in a fast-paced, distributed, cross-time-zone environmentclear written communicationcross-functional collaborationability to switch between prioritiesAPI testingREST/JSON testingPostman
