Vice President, Clinical Data Management & Programming

Job Summary:The Vice President, Data Management and Programming position is responsible for serving as the global head of Data Management inclusive of data management, data review, database programming, and medical coding activities. Essential Functions: Lead departmental staff and holds responsibility for performance management, retention of personnel, and for expense approval and budgeting of the data management and database programming team. Execute multiple high impact initiatives to achieve overall departmental goals. Serve as executive escalation point of contact for all Data Management partnerships and deliverables. Understand the overall financial plan and contribute to and support ProPharma’s overall financial goals. Develop strategies and support directors, managers, and other staff to drive programs according to agreed timelines; if changes are proposed to agreed milestones and timelines, to assist Data Management personnel in evaluating the risk of these decisions and developing plans to minimize/mitigate these risks. Accountable for all customer deliverables produced by the Data Management team. Accountable for customer satisfaction. Assist in the development and measurement of Key Performance Indicators for Data Management. Oversee all aspects of Data Management departments including resource planning, deliverables, staff training, staff appraisals, performance reviews, and annual salary reviews. Initiate, lead, and develop strategic business growth initiatives, technology solutions, and or process improvements that improve efficiency and global company growth. Contribute to and attends as available capability and bid defense presentations to support the new business development. Accountable for all Data Management input into client proposals and budgets.Work closely with Quality Assurance to ensure quality and continuous process improvement throughout the clinical and medical operations departments. Accountable for all Data Management departmental SOPs and ensure staff adherence to company policies, SOPs, federal guidelines, and GCP. Effectively represent Data Management departments at project review meetings, quality review meetings, and other executive management meetings. Responsible for utilization of team members, allocation of billable vs non billable work. Other duties as assignedNecessary Skills and Abilities:Available for domestic and international travel, including overnight stays (valid passport). Excellent oral and written communication skills, project and personnel management skills, and organizational skills are required. Relationship builder who can provide exceptional service to internal ProPharma Group colleagues, clients, vendors, and consultants. Strong negotiation and relationship management skills. Ability to cultivate and grow client and vendor relationships. Promotes positive work environment.Educational Requirements:Bachelor or Graduate degree in the life sciences or similar level of education and experience.Experience Requirements: Minimum of 10 years’ experience in data management pharmaceutical development and a minimum of 7 years of management experience in a pharmaceutical company or CRO. Candidate must have experience in clinical trial design and be familiar with CDISC and regulatory requirements.
