Park's facultyencourages each student to strive for intellectual, physical, and moral growth and to become acontributing member of the community.The Pre-Kindergarten Teacher is a member of the School’s Lower Division and reports to the LowerDivision Head. This full-time, 10-month position comes with the responsibility of working with facultyand staff to support the School’s mission and curricular goals.ResponsibilitiesDesign, plan, and implement student-centered lessons which demonstrate a deep understanding of theacademic discipline, curriculum, instruction, child development, and best practices, aligned with thegoals and mission of The Park SchoolUpdate documentation of current curriculum, instruction, and assessmentMaintain records of individual student progress and achievementRegularly communicate with families about classroom happenings and student progressComplete administrative tasks (i.e: attendance, incident reports, comment writing, etc.) and duties (i.e:lunch, recess, carpool) as assignedEstablish and implement expectations for student safety and conduct, and procedures and routines,consistent with Park School policiesParticipate in all school activities and events (e.g., Grandparents & Special Friends Day, Yule festival,May Day etc.)Meaningfully integrate technologies into class lessonsGuide students in their social-emotional development, maintaining expectations and support forpositive and productive student behaviorCollaborate with the office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging to keep multiculturalism anddiversity as a priority of curricular work and curriculum developmentParticipate in and contribute to an adult learning community by engaging in meetings, discussions,committees, task forces, and professional developmentMeet expectations as defined by the Park School Employee Essential ExpectationsQualificationsBachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferredThree (3) to five (5) years of teaching experience at the early elementary school level is requiredStrong interpersonal and collaborative skills with students, colleagues, and other adultsStrong communication skills, including experience in writing student comments, communicating withfamilies, and other school-related documents.High integrity, professionalism, and confidentialityDemonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in teaching, learning, andcommunity & experience in working in a culturally diverse school.Demonstrated interest in ongoing professional development and innovative practices that supportstudent growth.Skill in differentiating instruction for individual needs in the classroomAbility to think independently and problem solveEffectively interpret, navigate, mediate, and resolve conflict with students and families in a timelymanner.The ability to hold meetings in person and via supported video conference tools (i.e. Zoom or GoogleMeet).Proficient or the ability to learn Google tools and other applications as adopted by the School, such asVeracross, Atlas, etc.Physical Requirements:The ability to sit and stand uninterrupted for 30 minute periods of timeThe ability to regularly walk on and travel across variable surfaces (e.g. level flooring, stairs, turf, gravel,asphalt, etc.).The ability to lead, supervise and accompany students to all areas of the school campus (including allindoor and outdoor areas), including during day-to-day responsibilities and in case of emergency.The ability to regularly stand, sit, crouch, and kneel down in order to support studentsThe ability to work outdoors, year-round, in variable weather conditionsThe ability to lift and hold 15 lbs overheadThe ability to occasionally transport (e.g., move or drag) 25 lbsThe ability to maintain focus and composure in an energetic and, at times, loud environmentApplication InformationPlease visit Park’s career page (or https://parkschool.applytojob.com/apply) to complete anapplication and upload your resume, cover letter, leadership/philosophy statement, and the namesof three to five references, including two present or past supervisors.The compensation range for this role is based on a faculty scale of 65,420 to 139,580 annuallyActual salaries will vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to degreesreceived, years of lead teaching experience, and other considerations permitted by law.
