Procurement Supervisor

Job DescriptionThis position is 100% onsite/in personJob Summary:The Procurement Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient procurement of landscape construction materials, scheduling equipment, managing price checks through obtaining three quotes, and entering purchase orders into Procore. The incumbent will work closely with the Production Manager to streamline procurement processes, maintain quality standards, and contribute to the overall success of the procurement department.Supervisory Responsibilities: Managing a team: This includes hiring, training, and motivating staff members, as well as setting performance goals and conducting performance evaluations. Guiding procurement activities: You would be responsible for guiding the procurement team in the execution of their duties, providing direction, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures. Vendor evaluation and management: You would oversee the selection and evaluation of vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services. Duties/Responsibilities:Landscape Construction Material Procurement: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely availability of landscape construction materials. Source and evaluate new suppliers for quality, price, and delivery terms. Negotiate favorable pricing terms and discounts with existing and potential suppliers. Coordinate with stakeholders to identify landscape material requirements and order specifications. Place orders for required landscape construction materials promptly and accurately. Equipment Scheduling: Schedule equipment requirements in alignment with project timelines and specifications. Collaborate with project managers to identify equipment needs and ensure timely availability. Maintain an organized equipment scheduling system to avoid delays and conflicts. Coordinate with equipment rental companies to secure the required machinery within budgetary constraints. Price Checks: Obtain quotes from at least three different suppliers for each purchase requisition. Analyze and compare prices, quality, and delivery terms to determine the most cost-effective option. Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best price while maintaining quality standards. Prepare and maintain accurate records of price checks and purchasing decisions. Purchase Order Management: Enter purchase orders into the Procore system accurately and promptly. Ensure all purchase orders comply with company policies and procedures. Verify order details, including quantities, pricing, and delivery dates. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to resolve any purchase order discrepancies or issues. Track and monitor the status of purchase orders to ensure timely delivery. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement within the procurement department. Work closely with the Production Manager to implement streamlined procurement processes. Monitor industry trends and supplier performance to drive continuous improvements. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred. Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management. Strong knowledge of landscape construction materials and equipment. Familiarity with Procore or similar procurement software. Excellent negotiation skills with a keen eye for details. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
