Agility is seeking a highly experienced Program Manager to lead critical defense engineering and technical programs, focusing on electrical engineering, circuit card development, and software development. This role is essential for overseeing the execution of these programs and ensuring they meet DoD standards and objectives. The ideal candidate will have a distinguished background in the Department of Defense (DoD) and be capable of managing complex defense projects. DAU certification is highly desirable, and we strongly prefer candidates with retired or separated military backgrounds at the O4 - O6 level.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership: Lead and oversee defense engineering and technical programs from conception through deployment, ensuring all activities align with DoD requirements and mission goals.
Strategic Operations Planning: Develop and manage comprehensive program plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, tailored to defense sector specifications.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, providing strategic guidance and operational support to achieve program objectives and maintain high performance standards.
Stakeholder Coordination: Effectively engage with military and defense stakeholders, ensuring their requirements and expectations are met while maintaining strong relationships with key defense entities.
Budget and Financial Management: Monitor and manage program budgets, ensuring financial accuracy, adherence to defense contracts, and timely reporting of financial metrics.
Process Optimization: Model and refine business and technical processes to ensure efficiency and alignment with defense standards and strategic objectives.
Risk Management: Identify potential program risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure program integrity and success.
Progress Reporting: Provide detailed updates and strategic reports on program status, challenges, and achievements to senior defense officials and stakeholders.
Business Development: Contribute to business development efforts by identifying opportunities for new contracts, expanding existing relationships, and supporting proposal development.
Client Support: Act as a primary point of contact for client support, addressing client needs and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services that meet or exceed expectations.
Team Development: Offer training, coaching, and support to program team members to enhance their capabilities and performance.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required; Electrical Engineering or Computer Science preferred. Advanced degrees or additional certifications are highly valued.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of program management experience in defense, preferred as a lead in an acquisition program (PEO / PM level). Preferred but not required is abackground in engineering, with specific expertise in electrical engineering, circuit card development, and software development. Proven success in managing complex defense programs.
Certifications: DAU certification is strongly preferred. PMP or other relevant project management certifications are advantageous.
Military Experience: Retired or separated military professionals at the O5 or O6 level are strongly encouraged to apply, bringing their extensive knowledge of defense operations and leadership experience.
Technical Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in managing programs involving electrical engineering, circuit card development, and software development. Familiarity with defense-specific technologies and standards is essential.
Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with military and civilian stakeholders.
Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with experience in handling complex program challenges and adapting to changing priorities.
Business Acumen: Experience in business development and client support, with a proven ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities and maintain strong client relationships.
Adaptability: Proven ability to perform effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a focus on achieving mission-critical objectives.
