Preventative Maintenance Technician
Job DescriptionThe Preventative Maintenance Tech will be responsible for the performing preventative maintenance on all of the equipment in the plant. Must have knowledge of circuit boards, industrial/manufacturing equipment, hand tools, power tools and other industrial systems. Most importantly this person should possess expert knowledge of how to problem solve real word maintenance issues in real time.Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical and electronic principles. Operate safely according to safety standards and practices. Repair, installation or maintenance activities. Monitor work areas or procedures to ensure compliance with safety procedures. Inspect completed work to ensure proper functioning. Measure distances or dimensions. Confer with coworkers to coordinate work activities. Inspect systems to determine if they are operating properly. Maintain inventories of materials, equipment, or products. Maintain work equipment or machinery. Operate welding equipment. Interpret blueprints, specifications, or diagrams to inform installation, development or operation activities. Document operational activities. Maintain repair or maintenance records. Install programs onto computer or computer-controlled equipment. Explain use of products or services. Develop equipment or component configurationsRequisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, or replacement parts. Inspect, test, and measure completed work, using devices such as hand tools or gauges to verify conformance to standards or repair requirements. Examine objects, systems, or facilities and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs. Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions. Perform skilled repair or maintenance operations, using equipment such as hand or power tools, hydraulic presses or shears, or welding equipment. Develop or implement electronic maintenance programs or computer information management systems. Establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment consistent with Arglass policies and procedures while striving for zero accidents. Maintain an effective working relationship within functional area and with other departments ensuring effective and timely communication. Professional Background/EducationCertification in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Maintenance highly preferredTechnical Education or equivalent work experience requiredMinimum 1 years glass experience preferredMinimum 5 years of experience in similar position preferredRequired Skills:Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to thrive in a fast paced and demanding position. Vision: Must be able to make visual recognition of the working environment. Environment: Exposures encountered such as: hazardous materials, loud noise, and extreme heat. Standing and walking throughout a 12-hour shift.
