This is a seasonal position with the excellent opportunity of continued seasonal employment.Main ResponsibilitiesResponsible for loading/unloading trucks and emulsion tanks; connects hoses from storage tank to truck tank and moves lever to fill pressure tank with asphalt liquidPerforms daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT regulations and company guidelinesChecks fluid levels, tires, lights and other controls for safe operation. Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment refer major problems to the supervisorKeep accurate log of deliveries and completes required paperwork for invoicingObey applicable laws and follow the dispatch instructionsMust keep vehicle in a clean, orderly condition, keep excess asphalt off of tanks and spray bars.EducationHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferredClass A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsement and a clean driving history SkillsTwo years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experiencePrior experience operating a commercial vehicle in an industrial, construction or similar environment preferredMember of the Alaska Teamsters 959 or the ability to joinAbility to read and understand written and/or verbal instructions Complete required documentation related to the rolePhysical RequirementsMust be willing and able to climb onto and up/down a vehicle several times a dayWears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as requiredOccasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistanceRegularly required to use hand to move and manipulate objectsBe able to communicate (talk and hear)Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawlStanding/working on feet for long periods and walking across uneven terrainFrequent exposure to loud noises, working around heavy machinery and mobile construction equipmentRegularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, airborne particles, fuel, oil and other chemicalsColas Inc.
