mRNA process development scientist
About Serova
Serova builds personalized cancer vaccines. Each vaccine is made for the individual patient from their own samples and given in partnership with their treating physician. Every batch we make is for one patient, and we're building a GMP manufacturing facility with Twist to make them.
The role
Every batch we make is for one patient. You'll make and QC our mRNA and LNPs, and build the process and QC pipelines that let us make each vaccine quickly and reliably. You'll also help carry that process into the GMP facility we're building with Twist.
Who you are
A hands-on RNA scientist who has produced, purified and QC'd mRNA and LNPs at the bench
You enjoy making the pipeline faster
High agency, friendly and low ego
Requirements
A PhD, or 3+ years in industry, working on RNA or nucleic acid therapeutics
Hands-on with IVT, purification, LNP formulation and QC
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, or willing to relocate
Authorized to work in the US, or a realistic path to get there
What will make you stand out
High-throughput QC: you've built QC pipelines for RNA and DNA using NGS, capillary electrophoresis or LC-MS
RNA-LNP production at a biotechnology company
RNA chemistry: modifications, capping, conjugation
Liquid handling and automation
You write Python for your own analysis
Tech transfer into GMP, or work with CDMOs
