We seek strategic, results-driven leaders who thrive in dynamic environments and are motivated to build something exceptional within a collaborative, inclusive, and empowering culture.Role OverviewThe Procurement Director - Global 3rd Party Actives has global accountability for defining and executing sourcing strategies for third-party active ingredients (approx. annual spend $250M) that enable FMC’s portfolio of mixtures, private label offerings, buy/sell products, and technical partnerships.The role partners closely with Business Development, Regional Commercial teams, Global Marketing, and Technical organizations to ensure freedom to operate, competitive cost positions, and supply resilience across the product lifecycle.This position reports to the Chief Procurement Officer and leads a global team. The leader must drive cross-functional decision-making at pace, balancing short-term commercial resets with long-term category strategy.Responsibilities Strategic & Transformation LeadershipLead end-to-end reset of key 3rd party active partnerships, including:Sourcing model redesignEvaluation of make vs. buy vs. partner strategiesAlignment of agreements to market competitiveness benchmarks Category and Sourcing StrategyDevelop and execute category strategies for third-party actives aligned to FMC portfolio priorities and market positioning.Define sourcing strategies for new product introductions, Existing portfolio cost improvement, Strategic partnerships and alliancesPartner with Commercial teams to optimize regional product offerings, Buy/sell models, Portfolio rationalization Cost competitiveness & Financial ImpactLead should-cost modeling and total cost of ownership analysis to identify and deliver competitive positions vs. external benchmarksDrive multi-year cost reduction roadmapsEnsure all agreements are structured to maintain cost flexibility and downside protection Supplier & Partnership ManagementDevelop next-generation supplier partnerships balancing collaboration and competitive tensionManage supplier performance across cost, Quality, Reliability, InnovationNavigate complex relationships where suppliers are also competitors or vertically integrated players Risk & Supply ResilienceMitigate risks from single-source dependencies in strategic mixturesBuild dual sourcing and contingency strategies to ensure continuityAnticipate and manage regulatory and freedom-to-operate risks Asset & Network OptimizationPartner with Technical and Manufacturing teams to ensure alignment between: Cost structures, Capacity plans, Portfolio needs Market Intelligence & External BenchmarkingBuild Deep Market Intelligence OnGlobal supply base (including China and India)Cost benchmarks and process advantagesCompetitor positioningTranslate insights into actionable negotiation and sourcing strategiesRequired Education & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree is required; an Advanced Degree is preferred. A minimum of 10 years of business experience in a regulated environment within procurement, business development, marketing, and/or regulatory roles is required.Experience in the Crop Protection or Agricultural Products industry is highly preferred.A proven track record in negotiating large, complex supply agreements and demonstrated ability to define and execute effective procurement strategies is required. Must Have Qualifications & RequirementsProven skillset in working with business development & commercial functions Demonstrated experience in working with other crop protection companies Knowledge of potential data requirements and license/royalty aspects of 3rd party actives and how to incorporate into contract for supply Understanding of general accounting and legal concepts as it relates to procurement: contingent liability, enforceability of contracts (legal consideration), and price competitiveness (e.g. Most Favored Nations). Capability to organize teams and initiate projects using project management skills Strategic sourcing proficiency, Ability to lead and drive category strategies following a clear methodology and thought process Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, a proven influence.
