For this position, we are seeking a talented individual to join AIS as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer.Core Knowledge & SkillsDesigns complex network and hybrid-cloud solutions; implements security controls, DR/BCP, and automated IaC with deployment pipelines; performs advanced performance tuning.Work & ComplexitySolves complex issues, designs and delivers new infrastructure solutions, performs capacity planning, and leads advanced automation initiatives.Quality & IndependenceDrives root-cause analysis, enforces best practices and QA on changes, optimizes for reliability and user experience; operates with high autonomy.Teamwork & CommunicationLeads cross-functional efforts, mentors juniors, facilitates knowledge transfer, and aligns stakeholders with technical plans.Consulting & EngagementProvides strategic input on infrastructure initiatives, recommends advanced technologies, and manages vendor relationships.Project SummaryAIS is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer for a contract supporting a federal customer in a hybrid role in the DC/Maryland/Virginia (DMV) area.Key ResponsibilitiesSupports the operation of the cloud backbone for network communications systems; provides specifications and detailed schematics for cloud network architectures.Administers, monitors, installs, maintains, and troubleshoots a wide range of systems.Conducts testing of network design.Required For This OpportunityBachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or closely related degree).At least 5+ years of experience in Network Engineering.Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software, virtual appliances, interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, firewalls, switches, gateways, etc.Understands how commodity cloud servers, operating systems and networks function, perform and scale.Must have an Active Secret Clearance.Certifications: IAT-2, 1 or more cloud certifications.Nice to Have SkillsExperience supporting DoD/IC programs and mission systems.At AIS, we are committed to offering competitive and fair compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and contributions of each team member. The targeted base salary range for this role is $102,000–$154,000 per year.
