Sr. Project Manager (Utility – GIS Upgrade)

Seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support a high‑visibility GIS system upgrade initiative for a large utility client headquartered in New Jersey. This role is ideal for a PMP‑certified project leader with strong utility domain experience (electric, gas, or combined) and a proven ability to deliver complex IT modernization programs.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end‑to‑end delivery of a GIS upgrade initiative, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, quality, and documentation objectives are metPartner with cross‑functional stakeholders including IT teams (OT, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Testing) and Business teams (Electric Operations, Asset Management, Projects & Construction)Coordinate and govern activities performed by system integrators, including deliverable reviews, issue resolution, and change controlEnsure compliance with client EPMO / PMO standards, templates, and reporting requirementsDevelop and maintain project plans, schedules, RAID logs, status reports, and executive communicationsFacilitate working sessions, design reviews, and decision forums related to GIS data modeling, workflows, and integrationsIdentify and manage risks related to data quality, system integration, resourcing, and cutover activitiesManage project budgets, forecasts, accruals, and financial reportingRequired QualificationsPMP certification (required)Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Management, or related field10+ years of project management experience leading large IT initiativesStrong understanding of project management fundamentals (scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, contracts)Experience leading cross‑functional, technical teamsHands‑on experience supporting system upgrades, migrations, or platform modernizationStrong stakeholder management, communication, and vendor management skillsProficiency with Microsoft tools and PPM platformsMust be local to New Jersey and able to work onsite in South Plainfield, NJ three days per weekPreferred ExperienceUtility background (electric, gas, or combined)Experience working with GIS systems or utility customer/asset systemsAdditional DetailsContract Role (W2)Duration: 2.5 Years (with potential for extension)No clearance requiredInterviews conducted via Microsoft Teams
