You'll serve as the on-site leader responsible for planning, sequencing, and overseeing day-to-day field operations on projects valued at $40M+. Your leadership will drive safety, quality, schedule performance, and strong relationships with federal partners, design teams, trade contractors, and our internal project teams.What You'll Do Lead all on-site construction activities from mobilization through closeoutSupervise, train, and mentor field staff, craft labor, and subcontractorsSet clear expectations around safety, quality, productivity, and professionalismEnsure work is executed in compliance with contract requirements, federal regulations, and project standardsPartner closely with Project Managers, owners, inspectors, and design teamsManage CPM schedules, pull plans, and detailed look-ahead schedulesCoordinate inspections, testing, reporting, and documentation required for federal projectsMaintain site security, access controls, and compliance with DoD project protocolsMonitor labor, material usage, and field productivity to support project financial goalsProactively identify risks and resolve field issues before they impact schedule or qualityWhy You'll Be Successful You bring strong field leadership, sound judgment, and deep experience managing complex commercial and federal construction projects. You understand the structure, documentation, and accountability required on DoD work and know how to lead teams in highly regulated environments. You communicate clearly, hold high standards, and take pride in delivering projects the right way.Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 8 years of Superintendent experience on commercial construction projectsProven experience leading projects valued at $40M+At least 2 years of experience on NAVFAC and/or USACE projects strongly preferredStrong understanding of federal contracting requirements, QA/QC, and safety standards EM-385-1-1Experience working in secure and active federal facilitiesIn-depth knowledge of craft functions and union agreementsProficiency with Procore and Primavera P6 (preferred)OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain)Demonstrated commitment to safety, inclusion, and developing future leadersStrong organizational and documentation skillsNote: Absher is a Federal Contractor.
