Position Overview
Germer PLLC is seeking a Litigation Associate with a minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience to join its Austin office. The Associate will assist with and, as experience allows, handle an active docket of matters, primarily supporting insurance defense matters while gaining exposure to the firm’s broader civil litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an early career attorney who is eager to build practical courtroom and case management experience, while also providing a strong platform for more experienced candidates who are ready to take on increased responsibility. The firm offers flexible work arrangements that will be determined based on the candidate's experience, practice needs, and office alignment.
Key Responsibilities
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, legal memoranda, and other legal documents
Prepare client reports and case evaluations
Attend hearings, depositions, and mediations if necessary
Assist with case strategy and file management
Support trial preparation and participate in trial as appropriate
Manage deadlines across multiple active matters
Qualifications
JD from an ABA accredited law school
Admitted to practice in the state of Texas
4 to 6 years of litigation experience preferred
Excellent writing, analytical, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
Self-motivated with a strong desire to grow as a litigator
