Maintenance Technician - Manufacturing & Facility SupportLocation: Holland, OHJob Type: Full-TimeSchedule: Primarily Day Shift (flexible coverage as needed)Pay: $35-$42 per hour (based on experience and technical capability)Industry: Window & Door ManufacturingPosition Summary:We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing equipment, process improvement initiatives, and facility maintenance within our window and door production operations. This role primarily works day shift; however, flexibility is required to address equipment breakdowns, special projects, and operational needs.The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in maintaining production efficiency, equipment reliability, and overall facility functionality.Key Responsibilities:Manufacturing Maintenance & ReliabilityPerform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipmentTroubleshoot and repair saws, routers, welders, cutting and handling equipmentMaintain conveyors, motors, drives, and gearboxesDiagnose and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systemsTroubleshoot electrical systems up to 480V, including sensors, motors, control circuits, and VFDsAssist with PLC troubleshooting and minor program or parameter adjustmentsRespond promptly to equipment issues to minimize downtimeComplete work orders, inspections, and maintenance documentation accuratelyMaintain tools, spare parts inventory, and equipment recordsCollaborate with equipment suppliers to gain full understanding of facility equipment and improve response timesProcess Engineering SupportPartner with Production to improve equipment uptime, reliability, and cycle timesSupport efforts to reduce scrap, rework, and material wasteAssist with root cause analysis (RCA) of equipment and process failuresSupport new product introductions and line changesContribute to continuous improvement initiativesAssist in developing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), preventive maintenance standards, and changeover documentationParticipate in equipment capability reviews and performance improvement projectsSupport installation, commissioning, and optimization of new equipmentFacility Maintenance ResponsibilitiesPerform routine facility maintenance, including building systems and infrastructureMaintain doors, dock equipment, and overhead doorsRepair lighting, electrical outlets, and basic power distribution systemsPerform minor plumbing repairs such as leaks, fixtures, and drainsMonitor and perform basic HVAC troubleshooting (filters, belts, sensors)Support plant utilities including compressed air, vacuum systems, and dust collectionPerform basic carpentry, welding, and fabrication for repairs and improvementsAssist with facility inspections, safety audits, and compliance requirementsCoordinate with outside contractors for repairs and capital projectsSupport general workplace organization and seasonal facility needsSchedule & Flexibility:Primary schedule: Day shiftFlexibility required for equipment breakdowns, urgent repairs, shutdowns, and special projectsOccasional off-shift or weekend work (approximately once per month)Overtime may be required based on business needsRequired Qualifications:High school diploma or GED (technical training or associate degree preferred)3–5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience supporting both production equipment and facility systemsStrong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting (up to 480V), pneumatics, and hydraulicsAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematicsStrong troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentPreferred Qualifications:Experience in building products manufacturingPLC experience (Allen-Bradley or Siemens)MIG/TIG welding and fabrication skillsFamiliarity with Lean manufacturing principlesExperience developing or improving a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)Forklift, scissor lift, or aerial lift certificationOSHA or industrial safety trainingPhysical & Work Requirements:Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work on equipment for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 75 poundsComfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, temperature variations, and moving machineryCompensation & Benefits:Competitive hourly pay with performance-based increasesPrimarily day-shift position with flexible support expectationsOvertime opportunitiesHealth insurance monthly stipend $300~1-2 weeks PTO and Paid holidays401(k) with company matchTraining, development, and advancement opportunitiesQualified candidates are encouraged to apply with a resume outlining relevant maintenance and manufacturing experience.
