Our innovative approach empowers us to design and manufacture cutting-edge solid and hybrid rocket motors and engines. We aim to push the boundaries of propulsion technology to serve both commercial and defense sectors. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to join our procurement team supporting the production of rocket assembly operations. The Junior Buyer will play a key role in ensuring the timely acquisition of materials, components, and services required for manufacturing and assembly processes. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a passion for contributing to cutting-edge aerospace and defense projects. Key Responsibilities: Expediting Orders: Monitor and track purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of materials and services. Proactively follow up with suppliers to address delays or issues. Procurement Support: Assist in sourcing and purchasing materials, components, and services required for rocket assembly operations, ensuring alignment with production schedules and quality standards. Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve supply chain disruptions, including late deliveries, quality issues, or discrepancies in shipments, in collaboration with internal teams and suppliers. Indirect Products Procurement: Source and order all indirect items to support company activities to include (office supplies, commodities, general shop services, and marketing materials, etc.) Supplier Coordination: Communicate with suppliers to confirm order details, delivery timelines, and resolve any discrepancies or delays. Order Management: Create and manage purchase orders, track order status, and ensure timely delivery of goods to support production needs. Inventory Monitoring: Collaborate with inventory and production teams to monitor stock levels and identify procurement needs to avoid shortages or disruptions. Cost Optimization: Support efforts to negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards. Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and aerospace standards, including ITAR and FAR/DFAR requirements. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier communications, and procurement activities. Generate reports on procurement performance and metrics. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure purchased materials meet technical specifications and quality requirements. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and supplier performance to enhance overall efficiency. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered. Experience: 1-3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing roles, preferably in the aerospace or manufacturing industry. Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with aerospace industry standards is a plus. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with suppliers and internal teams. Problem-Solving: Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing purchase orders and supplier communications. Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support production goals. Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required. TAR Requirements: To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require minimal walking, standing for extended amounts of time, climbing, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat.
