Quality Control Inspector- 1st Shift

QUALITY INSPECTOR NEEDED- Decimal Engineering is a fast-paced drug-free, equal-opportunity employer and manufacturing facility located in Coral Springs, Florida. Decimal Engineering specializes in Precision CNC Machining and Custom Sheet Metal Fabrications for the aerospace, medical, automotive, electronics, and marine-related industries. Quality Inspectors inspect products both visually and with measurement tools, such as micrometers or calipers as well as coordinate-measuring machines (CMMs). The Quality Inspectors’ job is to ensure the products produced are of consistently high quality and adhere to relevant specifications. Quality Inspectors are an invaluable member of the manufacturing team, making sure that production workers make products according to prescribed guidelines and specifications. Quality Inspectors require a strong attention to detail and analytical skills to perform these duties. Quality Inspector Job Responsibilities: Interpret design drawings and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies Incoming raw material inspections with respect to quality standards Inspection of fabricated/formed/machined components in accordance with specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. Inspects fist piece and in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor. Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work. Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs Knowledge of ISO and AS9100 FAIRS is a plus Mechanical gage calibration experience a plus Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications. Knowledge of GD&T and understanding of applications for use. Strong Sense of Urgency Familiarity with inspection of metal working such as forming, welding and machining Demonstrates proficiency in using hand tools (micrometers, calipers, etc) Coordinate-measuring machine (CMMs) experience is a plus Strong regard for quality assurance according to company standards Excellent oral and communication skills Good team player who can work efficiently with minimal supervision Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time Must be able to lift 50 lbs About Decimal Engineering: Decimal Engineering is a certified ISO 9001-2008, AS9100 Standards, ITAR, and DFAR compliant professional manufacturing facility that offers competitive compensation and benefit package (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, paid vacation, holidays, etc.) as well as a team environment with a long-tenured staff.
