Overview The Department of Biosystems Engineering at Auburn University is seeking candidates for a TES Research Assistant. The selected candidate will provide technical support to biosystems engineering programs.
Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:
Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
Assistance with special projects
Seasonal work
Emergencies

Responsibilities Essential functions but not limited to the following:
Assist with Precision Agriculture work in the department
Assist with managing Biosystems Engineering geospatial
Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance of research and teaching equipment
Assist with logistical operations that include equipment, materials and labor needs
Record, compile, process, and analyze data/samples
Assist with preparation of documents for publications and presentations
Assist with execution of funded projects and planning of meetings
Communicates with Biosystems Engineering faculty and staff, and appropriate offices regarding assessment data
Assist with equipment inventories, and work orders
Perform other duties as assigned by the department head
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Biological and Agricultural Technology Management, Biosystems Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or other closely related technology field.
Valid driver’s license.
